Products used:
Hair dryer (cool heat)
Moulding wax
Sealer
Supra-colour palette
Brushes
Stipple sponge
- Cleaner and tone your models skin, DO NOT moisturise as that would make application of the wax more difficult.
- Grab a reasonably sized amount of wax and rub between your hands to soften and ease application.
- Once this is done place the wax on desired facial part (cheek bone for example.) Ensure your models eyes are closed.
- Using a flat utensil start from the edges blending away the wax so it blends into the skin. Add a little moisturiser to help blend it out. Always be considerate of models comfort when applying to skin.
- Pour a tiny bit of sealer into the lid then using a baby bud apply sealer all over the wax.
- Carefully dry using a hair dryer and cold heat. Dry until it feels tacky.
- When applying the coloured supra-colours or more natural tones ensure you pat with a stipple sponge don't rub as this will remove the wax.
- Finally powder to help the product stay.
- Scrape off the face to remove.
Ensure;
- You blend well
- Avoid it looking like a lump on the face
After creating these and after being given feedback I noticed that I added way to much colour to the face. The whole point in this term is to try and learn these new special effects skills so I can't just try cover or correct my mistakes with colour because if neutral tones had to be used like on my final tribal image all the errors would be seen. I barely have any patience sometime so I think I really do need to be more patience when shaping and applying the wax on the face to ensure the best possible outcome.
